Compact shovels

Compact shovels differ in handle length, head shape, width, weight and material. The group also contains a sheath sold on its own for a specific Cold Steel model. An accessory is not a complete shovel, so identify whether the product is the tool or the separate cover.

Cold Steel products include Special Forces Shovel and the longer Trench Shovel. M48 Tactical Shovel and Condor 4x4 Round Shovel are also represented. Listed lengths range from 41.5 to 76 cm, with weights from about 750 g to 1 kg. Some models also state head width and steel.

Tool or accessory

Check the product name and set contents. For a shovel, compare overall length, weight, width and handle shape. Match a sheath only by exact model and dimensions. A similar outline does not confirm that the cover will fit.

Cleaning after work

After use, remove soil and moisture from the metal parts and handle. Match maintenance products to the material and coating. The shovel should be clean and dry before it enters a sheath. Inspect the head-to-handle connection and the cover seams and closures regularly.
