Two objects can refer to the same television series while serving very different purposes. The Iron Throne bookend and the miniature Longclaw made as a letter opener are a good example. Both are by The Noble Collection, yet their scale, function and display requirements are quite different.
The Iron Throne piece is 19 cm high and weighs 1.37 kg. Before placing it on a shelf, check the space, furniture load and the surface that will rest against the books. The Longclaw miniature is 22.8 cm long. As a small functional collectible, it needs a secure place of its own, particularly away from children.
Theme, size and display
A favourite symbol may be the starting point, but the real dimensions and purpose should decide where the object belongs. Photographs do not always convey scale accurately. A heavier bookend requires a stable shelf, while a miniature needs a position that prevents it sliding or leaving an edge exposed.
Remove dust with a soft tool and avoid rubbing decorated surfaces hard. Do not apply a cleaning product until you know it is suitable for the material and finish. Keep the box and any supplied components with the correct object, as they can make the collection easier to protect later.
